The Ups and Downs of Club Competitions

At a recent club internal competition night the judge awarded the first 2 print images a silver each, 19/20, but the 3rd. a digital image entitled, Fishermen’s Paraphernalia at Dungeness was unplaced, 14/20, saying that the sky should have been cropped to at least the underside of the top cloud. Is he right ?..my problem is that it’s the skies there that really intrigue and excite me which for someone who hasn’t been there perhaps wouldn’t understand. Its my problem, but the sky as shown is how I remember and like it ….. but at a cost !
